Arizona Highway Construction Workforce Program

Construction Pre-Apprenticeship combines classroom training with an opportunity to have paid hands-on learning in the construction industry. This 10-week program is delivered in two phases.

Date: Tuesday, May 15 & Thursday, May 17
Time: May 15, 10—11:30 am; May 17, 2—3:30 pm
May 15—Chicanos Por La Causa, 619 N. 7th Ave.
May 17—Valley of the Sun YMCA Maryvale, 3825 N. 67th Ave.

• Must have reliable transportation
• Pass drug and alcohol testing
• Pass a basic background check
• Be 18 Years of Age and older
• Must be WIOA Eligible
• Ability to lift, bend, squat, and work in ALL Arizona weather conditions
• Work will include the use of hand tools and small equipment
• Be on time and attend all day

PROGRAM DATES:   Monday June 4th through August 3rd

Classroom training will be held at:
Arizona Builders Alliance
1825 West Adams Street
Phoenix, AZ 85007

**Classes start @7:30 AM M-F ** 
Work experience will be held at one of 6 construction worksites throughout Maricopa

PHASE 1: Week One Class Training
The 1-week program will provide you with tools to prepare you for the con-struction industry. A detailed list of the days is on page two of this document.
• Preparing for your career
• Construction math
• Health and Safety
• Communication in construction

PHASE 2: Week two through Week Nine will Provide You with Hands-on Work Experience
After completing the 1-week training, you will begin working with a local com-pany that will provide hands-on learn-ing opportunities. During this training, participants will be paid $15.00 per hour.
