Workforce Arizona Council Members

Members of the Workforce Arizona Council are appointed by the Governor. The Council is comprised of industry leaders in private business, government, community-based organizations, and labor organizations. The Governor sits on the Council, as do members of both houses of Arizona's state legislature. Council membership requirements are spelled out in the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act:

  • At least 51% of members are business owners, CEOs, or senior level executives
  • Not less than 20% are representative of the workforce including labor organizations, registered apprenticeship programs, community based organizations and youth focused organizations in Arizona
  • Core programs (such as adult education, training, career services, etc) are represented on the Council

This representation requirement is important to ensure that all facets of workforce development have a say on the Council. The Workforce Arizona Council is dedicated to meeting these federally mandated membership requirements.
